Security and Sign-In

Change your account email and password, and manage how you sign in to Aplyr — including your linked Google account.

📌 Note In this article you'll learn how to:
  • Change the email address on your Aplyr account.
  • Reset your password from a secure email link.
  • Connect or disconnect Google as a sign-in method.

Everything here lives on one page. Head to Security settings to follow along.

How to change your account email

Your account email is where Aplyr sends important notifications and is one of the ways you sign in. Changing it takes a quick verification step so no one else can switch it for you.

  1. Go to Security settings.
  2. In the Email address section, find your current Account email and click Change.
  3. Enter your new email address, then click Send verification.
  4. Open the verification email Aplyr sends to the new address and follow the link to confirm.

Until you confirm from the new inbox, your sign-in email stays the same. If the email doesn't arrive within a few minutes, check your spam folder and make sure you typed the address correctly.

⚠️ Warning This is your account sign-in email — separate from the email you use for tracking applications and reading verification codes. See Connecting your email for details on setting up Gmail or an Aplyr Inbox.

How to reset your password

Aplyr resets passwords through a secure email link rather than an in-app form, so a reset always requires access to your inbox.

  1. On the Security page, open the Password section.
  2. Click Send reset link.
  3. Check your email for the reset link and choose a new password.

The button shows Email sent once the link is on its way. The link is single-use and expires after a while, so request a fresh one if it stops working.

Connected accounts (signing in with Google)

If you'd rather skip passwords, you can link your Google account and sign in with one click. In the Connected accounts section:

  • Click Connect Google and pick the Google account you want to use. After linking, you can sign in to Aplyr with either your email and password or Google.
  • To remove it, click Disconnect.
💡 Tip You always need at least one way to sign in. If Google is your only method, set a password first (using Send reset link above) before you disconnect it — otherwise Aplyr will ask you to add a password before removing Google.

Connecting Google here is for signing in to Aplyr. To grant Aplyr permission to read your Gmail for application tracking and verification codes, that's a separate connection — see Integrations.

Signing out and the Danger zone

At the bottom of the page, the Danger zone holds two actions:

  • Sign out — signs you out of Aplyr on this device.
  • Delete account — permanently removes your account and all associated data. You'll be asked to type DELETE to confirm. This can't be undone.

Want a copy of your data before you leave? Use Download in the Download my data section to export a JSON archive first. Full details are in Exporting your data or deleting your account.

📌 Note Signing out won't affect your saved jobs, applications, or Autopilot — those keep running on Aplyr's side and are waiting for you when you sign back in.

Good to know

  • Email and password changes both require access to your inbox, so keep your account email up to date.
  • Changing your sign-in password does not change any connected email sources or integrations.
  • If you ever see a "Reconnect Gmail" warning, that's about Gmail access for tracking — not your account password.
