  • Your resumes are stored securely and used only to apply to jobs on your behalf, parse your profile, and power AI tailoring.
  • You stay in control: delete any resume from Documents, or download or delete everything from Security settings.
  • Aplyr supports your GDPR and CPRA rights, including the right to access, export, and erase your data.

Your resume is one of the most personal documents you'll upload to Aplyr, so it's worth knowing exactly where it lives, how it's used, and how to remove it whenever you want. This article walks through all three.

Where your resumes are stored

When you upload a resume, Aplyr stores the file securely and parses it to populate your profile and match you to jobs. You can see every resume you've uploaded on the Documents page, including which one is set as your default.

Your default resume is the one Aplyr submits when you use Quick Apply or Autopilot, unless you choose a different or tailored resume for a specific application.

How Aplyr uses your resume data

Your resume data is used to make applying faster and more accurate β€” not for anything else. Specifically, Aplyr uses it to:

  • Fill out application forms and submit them on your behalf via Quick Apply and Autopilot.
  • Parse your experience, skills, and education to build and update your profile.
  • Power AI resume tailoring, which adapts a resume to a specific job description.
  • Improve your job matches and match scores.
πŸ“Œ Note Aplyr reads verification codes from your connected Gmail or your Aplyr Inbox β€” never from your account sign-up email. Your resume and email data are handled separately. See How Aplyr reads verification codes.

How to delete a resume

You can remove any resume you've uploaded at any time.

  1. Go to Documents.
  2. Open the resume you want to remove.
  3. Choose Delete resume and confirm.

If you want a different resume to be used for new applications, open one and choose Set as Default before or after deleting the old one.

⚠️ Warning Deleting a resume is permanent and can't be undone. It won't change applications you've already submitted, but it will no longer be available for future Quick Apply or Autopilot submissions. Make sure another resume is set as your default so applying isn't interrupted.

Your privacy rights (GDPR & CPRA)

Wherever you live, Aplyr supports your core data-protection rights β€” including the rights granted under the EU's GDPR and California's CPRA β€” to access, export, correct, and erase your personal data.

You can exercise the two most common rights yourself from Security settings:

  1. Download my data β€” exports a copy of your data, including your resumes and applications, so you have your own record.
  2. Delete account β€” under Danger zone, type DELETE to confirm. This permanently removes your account and the personal data tied to it, including your stored resumes.
πŸ’‘ Tip Want to keep your account but remove your data footprint? Delete individual resumes from Documents instead of deleting your whole account.

Good to know

  • Use the Aplyr Inbox (a dedicated @inbox.aplyr.co address) when applying if you'd rather not connect your personal inbox. It's optional, and disabling it permanently deletes the address and its mail. See Your Aplyr Inbox.
  • Deleting your account is irreversible β€” export your data first if you might want it later.
  • Need to fix a name, email, or password? Manage those from Security settings, separate from your resume files.
