Connecting Your Email

Connect Gmail or set up an Aplyr Inbox so Aplyr can auto-track your applications and read the verification codes Quick Apply and Autopilot need.

  • Aplyr needs an email source to auto-track your applications and read verification codes during Quick Apply and Autopilot.
  • You have two options: connect your Gmail, or set up a dedicated Aplyr Inbox (a @inbox.aplyr.co address) on Pro and Ultra.
  • Pick one as your Verification email source so Aplyr knows where to look for codes.
  • Everything lives on the Integrations page.

Why Aplyr needs an email source

When you apply, employers and their application systems (ATS) send confirmation emails, interview invites, and one-time verification codes. Aplyr uses your connected email to do two things automatically:

  • Auto-track applications β€” confirmation and interview emails are matched to the right application in your Tracker, so your pipeline stays up to date without manual entry.
  • Read verification codes β€” many sites email a code to confirm your application. Aplyr reads that code so Quick Apply and Autopilot can finish submitting hands-free.
πŸ“Œ Note Aplyr never uses your account sign-up email for verification codes. It only reads from the source you connect and choose below.

How to connect Gmail

  1. Go to Settings β†’ Integrations and find the Email connections section.
  2. On the Gmail card, click Connect.
  3. Sign in with Google and approve the requested access. You'll return to Aplyr and the card will show Connected.
  4. That's it β€” Aplyr can now auto-track applications and read verification codes from this account.

πŸ’‘ Tip You can connect up to two Gmail accounts. Once one is connected, use Add another to link a second. Need to remove one later? Use Disconnect on that account's row.

How to set up an Aplyr Inbox

An Aplyr Inbox is a dedicated @inbox.aplyr.co email address you can use when applying β€” so application mail and verification codes stay out of your personal inbox. It's available on Pro and Ultra.

  1. In Email connections, find the Aplyr Inbox card.
  2. Type the username you want β€” your address becomes your.username@inbox.aplyr.co. Aplyr checks availability as you type.
  3. When you see Username is available, click Create.
  4. Use the copy button next to your new address whenever an application asks for an email.

⚠️ Warning The Aplyr Inbox is optional. If you click Disable, the address and all of its mail are permanently deleted and can't be recovered.

Choosing your verification source

If you connect both Gmail and an Aplyr Inbox, tell Aplyr which one to read codes from. In Email connections, open the Verification email source picker and select the source you want under Connected sources.

This is the inbox Aplyr uses when submitting applications and reading verification codes for Quick Apply and Autopilot. You can switch it any time, and the Extract verification codes toggle controls whether codes are captured at all.

πŸ“Œ Note Quick Apply and Autopilot need at least one connected inbox to read codes. If neither is connected, you'll be prompted to Connect Gmail or Set up Aplyr Inbox.

Good to know

  • You only need one source to get started β€” Gmail is the quickest. Add an Aplyr Inbox later if you'd rather keep application mail separate.
  • Reconnect prompts can appear if Google access expires. If you see a "Reconnect Gmail" warning, just connect again from this page.
  • Your email content is used only to track your applications and read codes β€” never shared, sold, or used for advertising.
