How Credits Work

Credits are spent each time Aplyr submits an application. Learn about monthly allowances, trial credits, refunds for failures, and tracking usage.

  • Aplyr spends roughly one credit per application it submits, whether through Quick Apply or Autopilot.
  • Every plan comes with a monthly credit allowance, and new accounts get trial credits to start applying right away.
  • If a submission fails, the credit is automatically refunded — you only pay for applications that actually go out.
  • You can see your balance, breakdown, and recent activity any time on the Billing page.

What a credit is

A credit is what Aplyr uses to submit an application on your behalf. As a rule of thumb, one application = one credit. When Aplyr completes a submission through Quick Apply or Autopilot, it deducts a credit from your balance and logs it under Recent activity.

Your total available balance is made up of three buckets, which you'll see side by side on the Billing page:

  • Plan — your monthly allowance, shown as how many you've got left out of your plan's total. This refills each billing cycle.
  • Bonus — extra credits, such as a pack you've purchased. These don't expire at the end of the month.
  • Trial — starter credits new accounts receive. These can have an expiry date.
📌 Note Aplyr spends from your monthly plan credits first, then falls back to bonus and trial credits, so your allowance is always used before extras.

How to check your credit balance

  1. Open the Billing page from Settings.
  2. Find the Credits card. It shows your Plan, Bonus, and Trial credits, with your Total available underneath.
  3. Scroll to Recent activity to see each credit transaction — submissions deducted, refunds added back, and any credits purchased.
  4. To top up, select Buy more credits, or select Upgrade to move to a plan with a larger monthly allowance.

Monthly allowance by plan

Each plan — Free, Lite, Pro, and Ultra — includes a monthly credit allowance that refills at the start of every billing cycle. Higher tiers include more credits and a higher daily Autopilot limit, plus features like AI resume tailoring and the Aplyr Inbox. Your plan credits don't roll over, so each cycle starts fresh with your full allowance. For the credits included with each tier, see the Billing page or Aplyr plans explained.

Trial credits for new accounts

When you create an account, Aplyr gives you trial credits so you can apply to jobs before choosing a paid plan. Trial credits appear in their own bucket on the Billing page and may have an expiry date, shown right below your balance. Use them to try Quick Apply and Autopilot and see Aplyr in action.

Refunds for failed submissions

You only pay for applications that actually go through. If a submission fails — for example, a job posting closes, an application portal errors out, or a verification step can't be completed — Aplyr automatically refunds the credit. You'll see the refund land back in Recent activity as a positive amount. There's nothing you need to do to claim it.

💡 Tip If an application didn't go through and you're not sure why, check Quick Apply or Autopilot didn't work — what to check. The credit is refunded automatically regardless.

Running low or out of credits

When your balance gets low, you can buy more credits as a one-time top-up, or upgrade to a plan with a larger monthly allowance. If Autopilot runs out of credits mid-run, it auto-pauses and resumes once you've added more — it never tries to apply without credits to spend.

⚠️ Warning Credits and your daily application limit are separate. Even with plenty of credits, Autopilot stops once you hit your daily limit, which resets at UTC midnight. See Daily limits, credits, and pausing.

Good to know

  • Bonus and trial credits are kept separate from your monthly plan credits so you can always tell what refills and what doesn't.
  • Buying a credit pack doesn't change your plan — your monthly allowance stays the same; the pack just adds bonus credits.
  • Every deduction, refund, and purchase is itemized under Recent activity so your balance is always traceable.
