Exporting or Deleting Your Account

Download a full JSON archive of your Aplyr data, or permanently delete your account and everything in it.

Your Aplyr data is yours. You can download a complete copy at any time, and you can permanently delete your account when you're ready to move on. Both live on your security settings page.

  • Export downloads a single JSON archive of your profile, applications, resumes, and credit history — enough to satisfy a GDPR or CCPA data request.
  • Delete permanently removes your account and all associated data. It can't be undone.
  • Both actions are on Settings → Security.

How to export your data

  1. Go to Settings → Security.
  2. Find the Download my data section, titled Export your Aplyr data.
  3. Click Download. Aplyr prepares your archive — the button shows Preparing… while it works.
  4. A JSON file named something like aplyr-data-2026-06-12.json downloads to your device. You'll see a confirmation that your export has downloaded.

The archive includes your profile, your applications, your resumes, and your Aplyr credit transactions. It's a plain JSON file, so you can open it in any text editor or hand it to another tool that accepts data-portability exports.

💡 Tip Want a copy of your tracked applications in a more readable form? Your Tracker already keeps every application in one place, and you can filter and review it there before exporting. See How application tracking works.

What the export does (and doesn't) include

The export is a snapshot of the data Aplyr stores about you — your account profile, application records, uploaded resumes, and credit ledger. It does not reach into your personal Gmail or pull down emails Aplyr never stored; Aplyr only reads what it needs to auto-track applications and read verification codes. To understand what Aplyr touches in your inbox, see How Aplyr reads verification codes.

How to delete your account

Deleting your account is permanent. Once it's done, your profile, resumes, applications, saved jobs, and remaining credits are all removed and cannot be recovered — so we recommend exporting your data first.

  1. Go to Settings → Security and scroll to the Danger zone.
  2. Next to Delete account, click Delete.
  3. In the confirmation dialog, type DELETE in the box to confirm you understand this can't be undone.
  4. Click Delete my account. You'll be signed out and returned to the Aplyr home page once the deletion completes.

⚠️ Warning Deletion is immediate and irreversible. All your data — profile, resumes, applications, saved jobs, and credits — is permanently removed. If you only want to stop applying for a while, you can pause Autopilot instead of deleting your account.

Cancel your plan before you delete

Deleting your account doesn't automatically manage your billing. If you're on a paid plan, cancel or change your subscription first on the Billing page so you aren't charged again. Unused credits are forfeited when the account is removed. For the cancellation steps, see Managing your subscription.

Alternatives to deleting

If you're stepping away temporarily, you usually don't need to delete anything:

  • Pause Autopilot so it stops finding and submitting jobs — see Daily limits, credits, and pausing.
  • Disconnect your email or turn off integrations from Settings → Integrations if you'd rather Aplyr stop reading your inbox.
  • Disable your Aplyr Inbox if you have one and no longer want the dedicated address active.
📌 Note If you signed in with Google and want to remove that connection without deleting your account, use the Connected accounts section on the same Security page. You'll need a password set first so you don't lock yourself out.
