  • Aplyr writes a personalized cover letter for any job using your resume and the job description.
  • Edit the text inline, Regenerate for a fresh draft, or Copy it to paste into an application.
  • Every letter is saved under the Cover Letters tab on the Documents page.
  • Cover letters use your monthly plan allowance, so higher tiers can generate more.

How to generate a cover letter

Cover letters start from a specific job, so Aplyr can tailor the letter to that role and company.

  1. Open Search and find the job you want to apply to.
  2. On the job, click Cover Letter.
  3. Aplyr opens the cover-letter page and starts Generating your cover letter… β€” it analyzes the job requirements and your resume to craft a personalized draft.
  4. When it's ready, your letter appears in the editor, ready to review.
πŸ“Œ Note You need a resume on file first. If you see No Resume Found, head to Documents to upload one β€” see Uploading your first resume.

Editing the content

The cover letter opens in an editable text area β€” just click in and type. You're not locked into the AI draft; tweak the wording, swap in a specific achievement, or adjust the tone to sound more like you.

As you edit, the footer shows a live word count and an Unsaved changes indicator. When you've made an edit, a Save Changes button appears β€” click it to keep your version. Your saved text is what's stored for that job.

πŸ’‘ Tip Use Copy to copy the full letter and paste it into an external application form. The button changes to Copied! so you know it worked.

Regenerating a draft

If the first draft isn't quite right, click Regenerate for a brand-new version based on the same job and resume. This replaces what's in the editor, so copy or save anything you want to keep first.

Regenerating counts as a new cover letter against your monthly allowance, so use it when you want a substantially different draft rather than for minor wording edits you can make directly.

⚠️ Warning Regenerate overwrites the current draft. If you've made edits you like, click Save Changes or Copy before regenerating.

Finding your saved cover letters

Every letter you generate is saved automatically. To see them all, open Documents and switch to the Cover Letters tab (or click View All Cover Letters from the editor). You can search by role or company and filter the list to find a past letter fast.

If you reopen a job you've already written a letter for, Aplyr shows your existing one marked Previously generated instead of using up another generation.

Limits by plan

Cover letters draw on your plan's monthly AI allowance. Higher tiers β€” Pro and Ultra β€” include more generations, while lower tiers include fewer or none. Each new draft, including a regenerate, uses one generation.

If you hit your monthly limit, Aplyr lets you know and points you to an upgrade. You can check your current plan and what it includes on the Billing page.

πŸ’‘ Tip Want stronger, more relevant letters? Keep your default resume current. A well-parsed resume gives the AI better material to work with β€” see Managing your resumes.
